Numbers in the Wild: CRITICAL THINKING ON DATA STORYTELLING

OVERVIEW
This critical thinking, rich conversation asks students to consider how people tell stories with data. This discussion supports students in building the skills they need to “tame wild numbers” and understand the data they encounter in their everyday lives.

RECOMMENDED AGE
Middle & High School | College | Adult Groups

WHAT TO EXPECT
During the experience, we will consider questions like: How can we tell if data is represented accurately? Are there things we can’t really measure, like intelligence or humor? What is the difference between correlation and causation? Students will be asked to engage in the chat throughout the experience and will use the corresponding worksheet to follow along with the presentation.
