LIVING IN A CLIMATE-CHANGED WORLD

OVERVIEW
How can the world adapt so all people have the chance to live a healthy, productive life in a climate-changed world? Who is going to be harmed first and worst from climate change? What can we all do to fight climate change? In this conversation students explore climate adaptation, equity issues involved with climate change, and their own potential to be changemakers.

Grades 7+ | Young Adult | Adult

WHAT TO EXPECT
This presentation works best if each student is utilizing their own device so we can utilize online polls, the chat feature and other digital tools. However, we are happy to work with you in whatever classroom environment you are in.

In this virtual experience, students will learn the difference between climate change adaptation and mitigation but will primarily focus on adaptation. This experience will include examples of adaptation from around the globe and the United States, particularly focusing on flooding and heat. We will also consider a framework for how our unique skills can be leveraged to address the climate crisis.
