The Science of COVID-19 | Part 1: THE VIRUS, TESTING, AND GLOBAL IMPACT

OVERVIEW

This series of two engaging digital lessons utilizes video, animated slides and discussion questions to help students understand the science of COVID-19. This first part focuses on what a virus is, how the coronavirus spreads, the body’s immune response, testing, and the concept of herd immunity. Students will also consider how COVID-19 has impacted communities differently through individual stories, local connections, and discussion.

This virtual experience is the first in a two-part series on the science of COVID-19. Throughout the series we encourage students to ask their questions about COVID-19. We encourage educators to reserve both experiences.
