Together, we'll delve into the designs and cultures that have shaped the past 150 years of human reproduction as you connect with other caregivers and share your unique story of how you or your little one came into the world.

Tour & Chat: Digital Inclusion for Mothers Around the World

Join us at the Discovery Center for our public tour and staff chat series. Visitors will tour the galleries for 30 minutes with a Discovery Center guide and then chat with a featured staff member at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and discuss issues and developments within their focus area. THIS WEEK: Chat with Jamie M. Zimmerman (she/her) the Deputy Director, Digital Connectivity at the Gates Foundation. Jamie will discuss why and how the foundation wants to accelerate the closure of the gender digital divide and help partners use digital tools to impact women’s lives and livelihoods.

Partner Days: Perinatal Support Washington

Partner Days are back! Every other Wednesday this Summer, the Discovery Center is partnering with a different organization that connects to the themes of our current exhibition,  Designing Motherhood: Things That Make and Break Our Births,  which explores the arc of human reproduction through the lens of art and design. Discovery Center visitors will have the opportunity to speak directly with organizations doing vital work in our community as they share their stories and highlight how you can get involved. THIS WEEK: Our Featured partner is Perinatal Support Washington (PS-WA), a statewide non-profit committed to shining a light on perinatal mental health to support all families and communities. They support people in the emotional transition to parenthood, including those experiencing depression, anxiety, loss, infertility, trauma, and more.
