Teen Week Workshop: Fighting Disease Around the World

Discover some unexpected tools being used to improve lives and fight disease as you also explore more about lives and cultures across the world. Featuring guest speakers, hands-on activities, and discussions on how you can play a role in fighting disease locally and globally.

Teen Week Workshop: Design Thinking & Women’s Health

How can we create opportunities for everyone to lead a healthy and productive life? Join us in exploring various health innovations and design thinking through the lens of our special exhibition, Designing Motherhood. Through engaging conversations, guest speakers, and hands-on activities, workshop participants will consider various innovations and how and why they were developed to improve health.

Note: This workshop will focus on objects designed to address woman’s health needs, including but not limited to pregnancy tests and contraceptives.

Stroller Tour: Designing Motherhood Exhibition

In partnership with Families of Color Seattle (FOCS) and PEPs, please join us for a weekly stroller-friendly tour through the Discovery Center's exhibition, Designing Motherhood: Things That Make and Break Our Birth. Together, we'll delve into the designs and cultures that have shaped the past 150 years of human reproduction as you connect with other caregivers and share your unique story of how you or your little one came into the world. 

Teen Week Virtual Workshop: The Global Goals and You

Explore the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which aim to transform our world by action to end poverty and inequality, to protect our planet, and ensure that all people enjoy health and justice. This workshop will be filled with engaging discussions, team building, and fun ways to engage with your community.

Food is essential to all human life, but only some people have access to nutritious food. While there is food available to feed everyone, so many people, including children, still do not have enough food to eat. Hear from guest speakers working in agriculture, and learn about food from around the world. Meet organizations that are helping to end hunger and consider how you can help create a more just food system for all.
